Maine Electrical Institute has partnered with cPort Credit Union, a local financial institution, to help students gain access to financing options at fair rates to help pay for their tuition costs to help lower the barrier to entry to getting the education you need to advance your career. MEI also helps guide students to scholarships that may cover the cost of tuition and materials needed to complete the program such as Mike Rowe Works, Maine Blue Collar Scholarship, Bring Back the Trades Scholarship and Home Depot Path to Pro Scholarship.

One on One pathway to licensure advice, guidance and support.

The pathway to licensure and the steps needed to accomplish your goals as an electrician can be difficult to navigate. MEI works with students individually to help them navigate this process and provide them with the correct information to make the process as easy as possible. We work closely with the state to provide guidance and make sure that we provide the most up to date information.

Understanding the NEC.

Understanding the National Electrical Code is one of the most important and commonly overlooked skills needed to advance your electrical career and is something that electricians use on a daily basis. At MEI students start learning how to navigate and use the NEC from day one and throughout the entire program to ensure students understand how to use this material and to pass state exams for licensure on the first try which leads to earning more faster, being more employable and being a true professional in the trade.

No unnecessary classes.

Unlike community colleges MEI is a school for electricians, that’s it. We build our courses and programs around what the state examination board requires specifically and only includes the education necessary to obtain licensure. There is no need to take courses that have nothing to do with the career you are pursuing. No hidden classes, less time spent on unrelated courses which means meeting the education requirements sooner. We provide career specific instruction and training.

No hidden fees or additional costs.

The price you see is the price you pay, quality training without all the hidden fees. MEI does not charge additional fees for books, administration or materials. We want everyone to have access to our program at an affordable cost. One of the ways that we accomplish this is by our book lending program, so that students do not have to buy books for each class saving hundreds of dollars. Another way is that all materials needed to complete labs and hands on activities are included into the total tuition cost at the time of purchase.
